Sour Diesel is a Sativa-dominant marijuana strain, with minimal Indica-like elements. Having a 90% Sativa and 10% Indica ratio.
Aroma: The Sour Diesel strain has the term “diesel” in its name for a specific reason. Sour Diesel has one of the stinkiest pungent aromas of any marijuana strain. There are some notes of lemon zest and other citrus fruits hidden in the flavour, likely being the reason why it’s called “Sour”.
Flavour: Its flavour is earthy and sometimes laced with a little dash of citrus fruit. Most of all, expect Sour Diesel’s skunky and pungent nature to overwhelm the other elements of its taste, leaving and citrus or spice reasonably subtle.
Effects: With THC 18%-26%, Sour Diesel weed has the energising factor covered, bringing positive energy and immediate mood-boosting to the table. Expect to become effervescent after consuming; it also leaves the body and mind feeling calm, light and airy, while still making it possible to get things done during the day. Sour Diesel is versatile and multi-purpose.
Appearance: Sour Diesel is known for its classic pot look, with leafy green sugar leaves and slightly pinkish-orange pistils that bring some colour to this reefer crop. The nuggets are often very frosty, covered with a multitude of tiny shining crystals.
Origin: Although Sour Diesel’s genetic lineage is technically not 100% known, it was developed in the ’90s and is thought to have the parent plants of Chem-dawg 91 and Super Skunk; both considered extremely potent and heady strains.
Growth: Sour Diesel weed likes to be grown either indoors or outdoors, assuming that the conditions are right. If grown outdoors, it needs plenty of sunshine and especially fertile soil for it to turn into a robust and healthy crop in the end with the potent product. Not enough sunlight can cause issues for its development. Grown indoors, this marijuana strain does not have any preferred method of being cultivated. One thing to note, however, it tends to reach taller heights than the average marijuana plant, making it sometimes difficult for indoor cultivation.
Grown outdoors, yields around 20 to 25Oz/plant. If grown indoors, expect this same number but per meter squared. Flowering time is 9-10 week. Due to this extended flowering period, for outdoors the harvest period is early November and not October like most other marijuana plants.
Medicinal benefits: It has an incredibly powerful effect on the mind and emotions. It is a beautiful marijuana strain for bringing positive energy back into life, ideally suited for those dealing with depression, anxiety and stress. Additionally, if experiencing fatigue, consumption of slightly larger dose than usual is beneficial. Furthermore, headaches and chronic pain are immensely affected in an upwards manner with the use.
Side effects: There is a risk of over-consumption leading to greater anxiety, stress, sadness or paranoia. Most commonly reported side effects from consuming Sour Diesel are dry mouth and dry eyes.
Foreword: It is important to remember that the consumption of sour diesel is the sole responsibility of the user and discretion should always be taken.
